Salt & Light

Standard

Do you ever feel overwhelmed and small? Like you can’t possibly make a difference? Like what is the point in trying?

“You are the salt of the earth.” You are not a grain of sand on a beach. Think about a bland meal. Do you need to cover the entire plate with salt to season the meal? No! A mere dash of salt will do.
“You are the light of the world.” Darkness is the absence of light. Do you need an entire bonfire to penetrate the night? No! A mere spark of a match permeates darkness.
A grain of salt or a spark of light, it takes very little to make a difference in the world. Everywhere you go, you are the salt and the light, and your actions permeate all that is around you. You are making a difference everywhere you go whether you realize it or not. Someone in your day is impacted by observing you or interacting with you. Make it good!
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:13-16)
